today i went to the basilica of the national shrine of the immaculate conception, the catholic university of america and the pope jean paul II cultural center. tiredness is taking precedence over typing tonight, but one moment which i pocketed as timely treasure was seeing a statue of an african jesus on the cross, and a beautiful carving of an african mary and toddler jesus. it was a great day of dandering and pondering and mesmerising mosaics in beautiful, accessible spaces...and playing with liam and iona, who really know how to have fun.
tonight i sat on the front porch while fire sticks burned wildly in the dark, drinking tea under the stars and thinking of a magical cross-sea connection.
'tis good to be here.
'tis good to be.
'tis good.
'tis.
