google ergo sum?

or maybe tesco ergo sum? well, both express our 'freedom' i suppose. the freedom to choose the same organically grown 'fairly traded' guatemalan roast of coffee as the next ethically-conscious liberal-minded shopper in the aisle...

or the freedom to type a few letters into a search engine and become an expert on everything from economics to ergonomics. the freedom to recite these cold, hard facts, gradgrind style, to anyone who will listen.

thank god for google. now, like david brent, we can wax lyrical on dostoyevsky without ever having to encounter raskolnikov for ourselves. what an efficient universe we live in.

postscript.

if any of these terms are unfamiliar, may i suggest the reader refer to wikipedia, an online guide which will provide the answers to all of these questions and many more besides.
